Has anyone tried it? You can only get it with a prescription and of course it isnt covered by insurance but its about $30 or so.

My uncle had prescribed it for my dad and the way it works is that you take one pill a day for 30 days. It really isnt meant to be taken for much longer than a month. No caffeine in the pills but it does suppress your appetite and jump start the metabolism. My dad lost about 25 lbs in a 4-6 week period.

I also got a chance to try it. I'm not sure how much weight I've lost but I've been taking them for 2 1/2 weeks now and I've lost a ton of inches especially in the abdomen and butt area. :orcass:

Ive never tried it, and havent heard much about it either. What are the side effects?

The only drawbacks occur when you first start taking it. For the first couple of days,it's very hard to sleep and you're appetite is very depressed. I didnt sleep for 3 days straight after starting it and ate very minimal during that time period as well.

As time went on, I got back into my old pattern and was still losing the inches/weight.

Congrats on the weight loss. Please be careful with the pills, they (diet pills in general) have such a bad rep.

Oops, I spelled it wrong. Phentremine is the correct spelling.

Yeah, I'll be careful. It's only for a month. My uncle actually recommended that I split the pill in half and take half a day instead of 1 but of course, I didnt.

So you got it from your uncle, or your regular physician? Is that ethical?

You've always said you were 5'7 and about 140 lbs, correct? I know for sure you are a size 6 or so. That absolutely does not fit the bill for taking prescription diet medications...yea, I'm sure, none of my business, but that's always something I have a huge problem with, and always speak up about, so no big surprise I'm going to say something.

I was about 140 but recently I had put on weight so I'm trying to get back down there. Good memory, too. I did wear a size 6 when I was about that weight. I'm close to my goal now and the pill as I mentioned is very very temporary.

As for how I got the pill, yes, my uncle called a script in for me. He's called in scripts for me other times for different things. I have him listed as my primary doc on my medical records. So, yes, he's my uncle but also a primary care doctor and knows my medical history. With that said, I dont think it's unethical due to that fact. If I was going behind any other doctor's back and getting the pills that would be wrong but they (my uncle and my primary here in florida) are a "team"

Phentremine AKA legalized speed. I took Phentremine. I wouldn't take it again. It fucked with me so bad. I split 37.5mg tablet in half and it still gave me heart palpitations. I lost weight but IF you don't change your ways the weight will come back! I think unless you are obese you should NOT take it. But everyone has to live and learn. I know I did.
