Radiesse is fine for the nose but I always recommend patients use something shorter acting first to see if you like the results.
Restylane, Radiesse, captique, cosmoplast, etc are all good.
Artefill is fine for deeper injection such as the nasolabial folds but not for the nose or lips or eyelids.
I hope this helped.
Thanks Carissa. You have a good weekend too.

Hi,
I had never heard of him before.
I did a little research on him and I saw that he did an ENT residency and for some reason he switched half way to another ENT residency. I did not see that he had done a Facial Plastic Surgery accredited fellowship. I also did not see whether he is board certified by the ABOTO (ENT) or ABFPRS (facial plastic surgery). His CV states he is a professor at UCLA but in the department of medicine and not a surgical department. I'm not sure why.
What I did see was lots and lots and lots of media appearances marketing everything "non surgical" from brow lift to nose jobs to facelifts. He certainly has found a niche in California. I cannot comment anything beyond this since I do not know him and had not heard of him.
I would just say he does seem to be successful at what he does. Whether he is good or not is something you need to do more homework on. Claiming to be a first to do something is a very large claim when not a single one of the papers he has published or presented on his resume had anything to do with this topic or even plastic surgery period.
I am just a bit skeptical. My skepticism may be well founded or not but just look a little closer at his website, CV and results.
But then again, I am not usually easily impressed ooch _________________ www.VirginiaFacialPlasticSurgery.com

I didnt look that far into it as far as his background....
I'd use my own ps before him anyways..... I was just looking to see who all did that technique...I did see a few pics posted by Dr Dayan so I know he does it just dont know which filler he uses. _________________ 34 y/o female

I have some sun damage on my cheekbones. It looks like a bunch of freckles that have become one big odd shaped freckle. I've had it looked at by my primary Dr, and he's referred me to a dermatologist. What are my options for getting it removed? I've heard of lasers, peels, bleaching agents, etc, but which works best?
Edited to add: It seems to have begun after I had my 2nd child. |

Hi,
First you should see the dermatologist just to make sure it does not need a biopsy.
Then if he/she tells you that the lesion is not worrisome then you can use a variety of means to remove it depending on you skin color.
35% TCA, 88% Phenol, CO2 laser, Q-switch lasers, are some of the better options if you are light skinned.
Bleaching creams and microdermabrasion is another method which is conservative with no down-time but may take months to work well.
Good luck. _________________ www.VirginiaFacialPlasticSurgery.com

I could be way off... but that sounds like it could be melasma-- the "butterfly mask" some women get while pregnant...

Although it is supposed to go away after giving birth.. I don't know. _________________

| Doc, I am constantly seeing an infomercial for the lifestyle lift here lately. The before and after photos are amazing.Yet I remember reading a long time ago that the lifestyle lift was ..well ..not worth all of the hype it was getting. Explain to me the procedure, how its done exactly and how long do the results last? What is your honest opinion on it? |

hi,
Lifestyle lift is basically a modified s-lift or a mini cheek lift. It is a fine procedure when done properly on very select few patients. The ideal patient has no neck issue, has minimal to moderate jowls, and is thin or in shape.
The results in these patients last a few years (2-5y).
The problem is that Lifestyle lift as a business and company markets itself to everyone and anyone who walks in the door and is not very selective. There is nothing wrong with the procedure just the way they advertise and select patients. Also, there are over 100 different doctors doing the procedure through out the country therefore one surgeon may get great results while another may get poor results.
In poorly selected patients (obese or heavy necks or jowls, round faces, etc), the results last a few months to a year.
Hope this helped. _________________ www.VirginiaFacialPlasticSurgery.com

Dr Naderi, its me again. I cant tell you how invaluable it is to have you here,so thank you once again. Especially for me these days. I have asked you about the lifestyle lift and the midcheek lift before. Well ,Im ready to get something done and would like to see a Dr and pin something down in the next few weeks. Here is my confusion.
Fist off the facial issues are these.I am 47 years old. Have taken incredible care of myself [internally and externally.] Restylane and botox are edging their way out with age unfortunately. I am looking for something with a little more staying power. I have slightly sagging skin around the jawline, creases in the nasal folds and some very fine lines beginning to appear in the area underneath the eye from the nose[upper, inner cheek I guess] . I really want to avoid a facelift, for both intensity of the surgey and the budget.
what would you suggest if I were your patient that would take care of these problems without constant upkeep as with fillers?
I know there are lazers, the lifestyle lift [which I dont think helps the cheek area?] peels and many other things etc. Please help, because the more I research I do, the more confused I am. It can be so frustrating. would love to know what you would recommend aside from from all out heavy duty surgery. |
