Uh oh-I think I am allergic to Bare Minerals!I wore it all day yesterday and after a while, noticed my skin kind of burning and itching. I don't think it's going to work out for me after all.
I called Sephora (where I bought it) and they will give me a store credit even though I already lost my receipt. I am happy with that since I know I can always find something in that store!

The good thing about Sephora is that they honor their returns. Even though it is minerals it's possible for it not to agree with your skin. Maybe you could try Origins? They have a powder foundation that may help you.

I've been reading around & have found A LOT of people having issues with bare minerals & it seems to be due to the bismuth in it, so if you liked the mineral makeup you can look for one that doesn't have bismuth in it. I think there's one by Jane Iredale that's supposed to be really good (sold at spas I think) that doesn't have it.

it doesn't have the bismuth.
they even give you a bunch of free trials. you just need to pay $3 for shiping.
it's also much cheaper that BE. it's 12 for the big one and $6 for a smaller tin of the powder.
good luck!

So far I like the bare minerals, but I keep hearing how this one is better, so I did take a look at the free sample kit. But why does it not include finishing powder??
edited to say that after a few weeks of bare minerals I am now having problems with it........I have now requested samples from everyday minerals & ocean mist cosmetics.

I just saw on their site that they do have finishing powders. It's just not with their foundations.

Just run your mouse cursor over the different colors. There's some on the far right that you can't see, but if you put your mouse over it, it tells you a description.
Pure Silk Dust Finishing Powder
is a translucent powder that not only reflects UV radiation, and has 18 vital amino acids, and anti-bacterial properties, it controls oil and regulates moisture while giving your complexion a flawless finish.
I also got some of their blushes and color correctors.
Finishing Dust Finishing Powder
Finishing Dust sets your mineral makeup for a perfect flawless finish, as well as helping control oil and reducing shine. You will have that extra confidence in knowing our Finishing Dust adds just the finishing touch to your flawless complexion.
Light Pink Blush
A translucent face color with soft shimmer that diminishes the appearance of redness and restores that clear, youthful radiance to your complexion.
It all sounds so nice that I want to buy it all!

It's a common misconception that you need a finishing powder with mineral makeup. You need it with Bare Minerals because they use bismuth oxychloride which gives you that "glowy" look (and can cause your allergic reaction). There are other mineral makeup companies that don't use the bismuth therefore you don't need the finishing powder (which saves you money - HELLO!!!). The one I use is Aromaleigh (www.aromaleigh.com). I started with Bare Minerals and switched to Aromaleigh and like it better for various reasons. Plus they sell other makeup on their site and have tons of eyeshadow colors. They also do the small sample sizes so you can figure out what color (or mix of colors) works best for you. And they have a forum that is full of very helpful women. I like the concept of mineral makeup and there are so many different ones out there that you can probably find one that works for you.

I just ordered the everyday minerals to try. I have been using bare minerals for many years and love it but I am willing to try something different.
Can't wait to get it, thanks for the link
