Too many choices!!!Of gyms.
I belonged to THE gym in Sidney. It was OK, I just did the treadmills and weights.
I belonged to the Y in Grand Forks because they had free childcare. I did the treadmill some, but also took several classes and enjoyed them.
Now I'm in a bigger place, and have too many options!! The closest to me is a small gym that just has treadmills and weights. The emphasis is on personal training, and with two sessions with a trainer a month you can use the facility for free. Or pay $30 a month to use the equpiment.
There's a Lady's Wellness fitness club that looks cool.
And 2 Y's. But the membership is more, and you have to pay for childcare. But, they have several sessions of Stott Pilates that I've been wanting to try.......
Any advice?? I'm thinking I'll call the coordinator at the Y and find out about teaching bellydancing, then the high membership and childcare costs won't be a factor!!

Well, for me, I'd find the gym that offers what I specifically want or may be interested in trying out. One of the things that kept me from joining my local gym for spinning is the cost, which is pretty much a full gym membership. I know I will not use the gym execpt for the spinning class. And since they charge a seperate, small fee for each different type of class you take, it's not like I'll experiment too much - KWIM? I like working out at home. I have my treadmill, free weights and a universal gym, so I know I won't use any of that at a gym.
I think calling the Y and offering your services would be a great way to go to balance out the cost of the membership and childcare. What do you have to loose? Did you call yet?

I didn't call yesterday, I was having a PMS/sick of the gloom do nothing sort of day.
I'm just trying to figure out the timing of it all, too. I have one going to school at 8. Then the middle one has to be at the school at 11:10 to get on the bus every day. And little one goes to preschool at noon T and TH. The timing really could not be worse They all get out at 2:40.
I don't know that I can get all the way up to the Y, get a workout and showered, get lunch, and get Keenan to Kinder. Unless I packed lunch and showered at the gym, and drove him to school. But that's a lot of prep work each day.
And then my afternoons are pretty much shot.
I have an eliptical at home, I just never seem to get more than 1/2 hour on it despite my best intentions.
The closer one seems like the better deal, I can run and lift and call it good. But, there's really nothing for the boys to do.....
I'm rambling. But thanks for giving me your input Sissy!!!
