Retin A micro and Facial ProceduresHi Dr. Thank in advance for answering our questions. I use Retin A micro every night and I would like to get botox, and the laser procedure for broken capillaries around the nose. Are these OK w/ retin a? Also how about chemical peels? thanks again.

Its my pleasure!
Retin-A makes your skin more sensitive so basically it makes the chemical peel stronger. That is sometimes desirable and sometimes it is not but as long as your Aesthetician or doctor is aware of the fact that the effects of the chemical peel will be stronger and deeper then they can account for that during the treatment. Alternatively you can stop the Retin-A one week before the peel.
As far as Botox it should not make any difference.
As far as Lasers for "broken capillaries" go, your skin again will be more sensitive to light base devices. If the area of treatment is extensive then you should stop the Retin-A one week prior and hold off 5-7 days prior to re-starting but if you only have a limited area and you are NOT getting IPL then you should be OK as long as they do the laser properly.
Good luck.
