Oh NO! I think I Have Tendonitis!Yesterday we had a home open and I'd been racing around the house all day getting it clean and ready...
My ankle was hurting more than usual (I have severe Osteoarthritis) and first thought it was that playing-up because I had been on my feet all day.
By the time I tucked the kids into bed I could barely walk, so I ended up going to bed myself..My ankle/heel was still hurting and I couldnt get off to sleep, so I decided to get back up and join DH at the computer. WELL...I couldnt put ANY weight on it AT ALL and had to literally crawl on my hands and knees to get there!
Its all swollen and tender, I cant even bend ot turn it...Im pretty sure it's Tendonitis..I have a Dr's appointment in an hour, so I'll see what they say, hopefully some pain med's and they will strap it.
DH had to go to work early today, so I also have the kids home from school.. Luckily for them they are being really good (so far)...I need a coffee, but I cant until DH comes home to take me to the Dr - GRRR!!
This SO SUX - I hate being confined to these damn crutches!
Sorry for the rant - hope everyone else has a better day LOL!!

Well Im home and yes it's a bad case of Tendonitis :(
They gave me some Voltaren tablets and said to rest, icepack it and if it doesnt get any better by the END OF THE WEEK (!!!), then I have to go back in and get some injection...
Oh and also my DH noticed Mason has a lump in his neck which has us worried. It's not where the gland is, but more to the back of his neck. So he has an appointment with the Dr tomorrow...
Urggghhhh! Not a great start to the week...

I am so sorry, Mel! That sounds so uncomfortable!
Hopefully you can get in injection. I got a steroid injection in to my wrist one time, it was swollen (for reasons we never did determine, possibly a tendonitis), and the swelling was actually keeping the tendon on the side from being able to stay where it is supposed to be. The injection was a miracle! It took a few days, but once the swelling went down, it was 100 times better!
Poor kiddo! There are glands in the back of the neck, too, so it is most likely just that. I have two on the back of my neck that are chronically swollen, they got REALLY bad when I had mono (when I was like, 15.....NOT saying that I think that's what he has, just giving the example that, they do swell up). I had two lymph nodes swollen on the back of my HEAD at that time. So they are not just in the places you think of. He may be fighting off an infection, and has a swollen node on account of it? Where about on the back of his neck is it? Mine are kind of next to my spine, about an inch or so away.

About half way between the side and back of his neck. So I guess around the same area as you described...
Hopefully its just a swollen gland, but can never be too careful with lumps etc...

Sending you good vibes...if it hurts too much, I would request a shot immediately. The shot in my shoulder for the same thing worked in 10 minutes...That has been since January...
Hopefully the swelling will go down on DS's neck and it not be anything to worry about.

Oh I totally agree you can never be too careful. I hope it turns out to be nothing. Let us know!! I have been wondering!

Mason was fine...Swollen lymph nodes, which are also located there - PHEW!
He does have an ingrown toenail that has become infected, so the Dr has given him some antibiotics for that. DH had the wonderful job of extracting all the pus out and cleaning it up. Mason either got it from picking his toenails (my bad habit also) or his old shoes which were too small...Anyways he is fine :)
Im still limping around, but I have much better movement and isnt hurting as much. I still cant put my weight down on my heel, but Im sure it will be fine soon.
