Ladies wth gym membershipsI haven't belonged to a gym in a long time, mostly because when I did have a membership, it was a waste of money because I never used it.
I really want to join one now because I think I'm ready to get serious. Anyway, I want to make sure once I join, I go regularly; my track record sucks.
What keeps you faithful to the gym? Is there one turning point that got/kept you in the right frame of mind or are you just the type that thrives on working out (because I've never reached that point).
A friend encouraged me to join but our schedules are not the same so we'll be solo most of the week, this is going to be my biggest challenge. Give me some tips & inspiration, p lease :sprt6%:

Force yourself to go 3-4 days a week. Don't let yourself skip out because you don't feel like it, tired, have too much to do, etc. Make it a priority. In time it becomes habitual, and you'll enjoy going.
Now I feel guilty on a day that I can't go to the gym. It's become so much a part of my life now. Plus seeing the results is really motivating.

Motivation gets you going, habit keeps you going!
I've always exercised, since high school. If I feel like I'm missing something if I don't go.
But, it's hard to go to a new gym by yourself!!! I've broken in 3 in the past year. I still feel like the ugly weird girl no one wants to talk to at my new gym, but I have finally talked to a few ladies.
I think you meet people more if you go to classes, but it's hard to go to the first few to several classes alone and not have anyone to talk to! But you will meet the regulars if you become a regular. That's what I keep telling myself...
My problem is I like most every class I try, and then I struggle with what I can do, and trying to fit them in.

Motivation & habit. Got it! I just told dh about it because the gym is having an anniversary special - $99 for the year with a $25 enrollment fee. That doesn't seem bad. He wants to join too so when my friend & I have trouble meeting up, I'll drag dh along.
I just have one more week in the cast then watch out world!

Ha ha you sound like my friend. Not yet, I get the cast off Thursday so I'm going to go to the gym next week & ask if I should join now or wait until I'm done with PT. I really want to do spinning so the cast has to be off first.

LOL, spinning involves your FEET. [smilie=smileymrt.gif]
Kidding of course, as long as you're careful when doing jumps in spinning, I don't think it would be a problem. Just listen to your body, if your wrist starts hurting, then stop.
