JESS- the 10K

How did your race go? Did you get the split time you wanted? It was a beautiful weekend. I love SM--was the race along the coast?

Yeah, check in!!!!

I was just about to post!!!

It was such a great race! There was a great turn out and it had a real charity vibe going on. I loved every minute of it. I had kind of a bad morning because i was expecting 8 women from my running group to meet up at the check point a half hour before the race and no one showed up. It made me really pissed. I was rushing to get there on time, skipped my planned breakfast (only had a cup of coffee and a bottle of water) and the biatches didn't even show.

Anyway, it was a very hot day. The weather went up like 10 degrees overnight. I thought I'd be impacted by the heat. The race started further north up the beach, we then ran down Main St. then turned up Ocean Park, up above the beach (Tori- are you familiar with the area?), we then turned up San Vicente (up hill climb). I was trying to keep up with several people and not worry about my time. I was actually running next to one of my favorite reality TV stars (Erika from Bravo's "Workout") and I wanted to keep up with her.

Turns out I was running WAY faster than I ever thought I could. And I didn't even know it. I ended up with an official time of 53.41 - With like an 8:40 split, or something like that. I was aiming for 9 minute splits!!! I was so excited. I realize i really like races and plan to schedule more throughout the year. I felt like doing it all over again when I was finished!

I'll post pictures as soon as I get them!
