I ran....twelve miles this morning.... and it kicked my azz.... horseback When does this upping mileage thing get easier???

First, Congrats!!!!! 12 is a big milestone!
It gets easier the more you do it... I promise you they do. That's a long ass way to run, and your body is not used to it yet, you should be so proud of yourself!!! The nice thing is, if you start marathon training and put in a good 20 miler, going back to 12's is a breeze!!!! :)
The good thing is, you shouldn't have to run any further than that for your upcoming race. You're tapering now right?
You're going to do great. If you're running 12 now, running 13.1 will be easy enough for you.... Great job!!!!

Ugh - my legs are killing me today.... ooch
I think it's funny that I can run 11 without much problem, but 12 killed me..... the straw that broke the camel's back, I suppose.
Anyway - I will have to check my training schedule, but I don't think I have a taper.... Well..... for the course of the training I have had 2-3 weeks of increasing mileage and then a low mileage week. I think I"m supposed to run another 12 this week.......

Great job MWM! I'm not as experienced as Runnergirl of course, but I hope it gets better. I've never done more than a half marathon and that was the last time I ran that far! Keep it up, gage how you feel the next couple of days to see whether you should increase next week or maybe just try 12 again. Good luck!
