I donated blood yesterdayAnd my hemoglobin was several percent above the cut off!!! I was so worried I'd get rejected again! I think I complained here the past two times I donated, once barely made it and once rejected for iron levels too low.

I didn't know they would reject blood for things like that. Glad you were able to thins time.How often do you donate?

It's not the blood, but the well being of the person donating. If you're hemoglobin (basically iron) is too low it's not safe for you to donate.
But I'd never had iron problems, so it freaked me when all of a sudden I was borderline, then below!!! My gyn told me to try going right before my period and that seemed to help!
