Anyone have alot of scar tissue ?

I will be a year at the end of July but i still have a fair amount of scar tissue around my incision.
I guess i just scar bad because i also got this from my belling piercing.
I wonder as time goes by will it disperse or if stays forever ?
I massaged alot on the area to break it up, but alas it didnt work that great.

Mine are really smooth and you can't feel them at all. I massage them with Vit. E at least once a day and have since the beg. Maybe try that?

or put those silicon strips on it. it's supposed to help with raised scars.
Happy to be

Even though I'm 6 months out (again) I still have a semi-thick scar that is really raised and red even though I have been faithful about putting on "Scarless", a silicone gel that the PS gave me. On Monday, I saw the PS and he injected cortisone into the scars - says it'll help bring down the redness. Can you say "owwwwwwwwiiiiiiiiieeeeeee" -lol!! I think some people just scar worse than others. I hope the scar improves soon for you - my PS says it takes about a year or so on the average.

I was afraid of this when I scheduled my surgery because I tend to scar very badly. My scars are actually really nice - I used those silicone sheets in the beginning and although I use vit e oil for every little scratch my kids get, it's very inconvenient to put it on my boobs so I rarely do.

Because of my fear, my ps mentioned steroid shots would always be an option. Sheri, I'm sorry you had to go through that, ouch!

After the injections were done it was totally fine. Now if the damn scars would just lighten up I'd be a real happy lady!!

I should of explained it better.
My scars are all but gone in appearance.
But when i push or squeeze in the area of the incision i can feel alot of scar tissue, hardness.
But my scars are fine, almost invisible- see my photobucket.

I have read somewhere that if your scars are very thick or hard you should put some massage oil on and basically roll the incision line around. Does that make any sense? Like fold it and rub? Anyway the idea is to break up the scarring inside....good luck!

Bec, those injections I got not only help with the redness, but are supposed to break down the scar tissue too. Lucky you to have invisible incision lines already
