Anyone ever make pumpkin piefrom pumpkins?(not canned pumpkin) I'm trying it today. We were given 2 cooking pumpkins, so I thought I'd turn them into pie. The pumpkins are baking right now.

Kel...I have.....you may have to puree and remove any liquid before you use it.

I was actually going to this year but ran out of time and had to work some extra. Now i have a can i'm going to use. I'm cheating. I am supposed to be in making my pies and deviled eggs tonight. The rest i can do tomorrow. Let me know how they turn out. I bet they will be delicious.

Dor......I did puree it, and there wasn't much liquid. (didn't know about that part)
They took a while longer to bake, but they smell great.
Benz......I'll let you know after I eat it. I got the pies, potatoes, cranberry sauce and cornbread for the stuffing done.

Ack, I've never made a pumpkin pie at all. Matter of fact, I've never made a pie from scratch. I am not a baker (at all).
