I don't think she looked fat: I think the media may have called her fat because she used to be thinner, and because in Hollywood you have to be a stick, or you're fat.
I don't think she should have worn that outfit, it really wasn't flattering.
But, no I don't think she's fat-- in fact, she's heavier than I am, but I'd love to have her body. I wouldn't mind gaining 10 lb or so, to get to that shape.

I agree, I don't even think she looks bad. She's just not super fit like she used to be but for having two kids so close together she looks pretty darn good.

I would not call her fat. The media is being quite hard on her. Reminded me of that old horror movie, "Carrie". Anybody old enough to remember it? lol
Anyway, I wish she had worn the other outfit that MTV picked for her. I did not see it (would love to) but I read that it was a corset type thing. She supposedly refused because she did not think it was sexy enough. I don't think she looks bad now at all. Just going through a rough time and yes, she just had two babies back to back! I also read that the reason she was so sluggish and unhappy looking on stage was because she could see herself in the monitors and did not like it!
I was wondering what size she was. I figured about the same as you, Larissa but it's so hard to tell. She probably used to be a 2 or a 4 back in the peak of her career. I hope she doesn't start starving herself now just to show everyone that she can be super thin again.

Well, that's a good point! My cardio sculpt teacher swears that you will look five pounds thinner if you just stand up straight. I agree with you about people being so caught up in weight issues (esp. girls). It's silly. It makes you scared to have a DD (and I do)!

She's not fat at all, but she did make a really bad choice on her outfit. It just wasn't flattering. (besides being too small too) The corset style would have fit her much better.

I am guessing her weight at around 125-130 and I bet she wears a six. She looks fine. I can believe how the media is tearing her apart. They should be ashamed of themselves. Do I agree with how she's been acting? No, but I don't think people should be portraying her in such a negative light over things that DONT matter. Like an extra ten pound. FUCKERS!!!

No, I actually thought she looked hot. Much better looking than some of those emaciated chicks out there! The outfit wasn't the best choice, but still not awful looking. She just should have chose a better outfit, b/c she really should have known that the media & public were going to TEAR her apart.
I wish more celebrities had bodies like hers, so young girls wouldn't get such a skewed view of whats healthy!

This is my exact thought. It scares me that our little girls hear/see so much of this bullshit(whether you try to hide it or not)...it's no wonder girls grow up with so many self-esteem issues!!

I am a 5 or 7 and she is about 10+ pounds heavier than I am thats why I thought she was around that size. My friend Jodie has the same body as Britney and she is the same height. I am not sure what size she is but she weighs 140 pounds. I feel bad for Britney and all the media attention she is getting but the girl does it to herself. If you show your hairy crotch, shave your head off, and give the all time worst performance in VMA history of course people are going to talk about you. She needs to take another break and regroup or maybe never return to music again. Its only going to get worse if she doesn't get her crap together.

You know you can see where she's worked really hard to get to the weight she's at compared to where she was 4 months ago. I hope for her its a wake up call. More hard work and less partying needed if she wants to regain what she was. She looks great to me but I'd never have gotten onstage in THAT outfit. Now a corset...that'd been perfect on her!

i think her body looked great the other night. I have seen some images of her recently where she looked a little thick but not at the VMA's. by thick i don't mean out of shape, just a larger than she was before she was married. People don't have the same body from when they were 16. I used to be a size zero, no more. I actually like having some curves.

Exactly. When you are 16, your body isn't even finished developing yet. I was a late bloomer and didn't finish growing until my early twenties. At that point, I weighed about 110-115. After kids, at 125-128, I have a lot more curves (partially due to my BA) and I also have to work at staying in shape (whereas I never had to before). I would probably be considered chubby by some of these people calling Britney fat because (as you can see from my siggy pic) I do have a little something hanging over my bikini bottoms! It's not there when I stand up but ever since I had two babies pretty close together, that's just the way it is. I am okay with it. I know I will never be exactly like I was before kids. In some ways I am better now, in others, not as good but that's just the way our bodies change over time. Maybe Britney was trying to wear a costume that she might have looked good in back at ages 16-20? IDK. I wish she had let me dress her though!

I think she is bigger than she used to be but she looks great to me {besides the really bad hair weave.}. Hell, she just had two freakin kids. I said something to my lil sis about how it pisses me off because people are saying she is fat. I think I am close to her size but sis says I am smaller.

About the hair, I read that she fired her hairdresser at the last minute and did it herself! Plus, now they are saying that a doctor had to be called to give her a large dose of antidepressants because she flipped out (about the hair-she wanted brown) back stage. The drugs made her pretty out of it. Whoever let her go onstage was not her friend! Sad.

geez theres soo many excuses out there. she should just own up to the crappy performance and allowing herself to go on stage looking awful. the girl needs help and refuses to seek it. shes going to have to hit rock bottom before shell pick herself up.

I think people are saying she's so fat only because they're used to how thin and toned she used to be. She's actually probaby at a very healthy weight now, but her thighs are really thick compared to what they were and it's very noticable from how she was.
I really admire Tyra Banks for addressing this kind of stuff. I loved the attitude she took when the media got on her case about weight gain.
I went on a tangent about a year ago abuot my weight as I noticed my metabolism really slowing. I talked really honestly with a couple of male co-workers about women and weight and their opinions? Overwhelmingly, they told me they love curves on a girl. We went out drinking many times and they'd comment on the girls (like drunk horny guys do) that were healthy looking... never once did they pay attention to the toothpick girls.
Sorry for the rant! I hate teh media for glamorizing toothpicks!!!!!!

Iagirl--- That's so true-- there are guys who do prefer thin girls, but it really seems like the vast majority, when it comes down to it, love curvy women.-- and that doesn't mean 38-22-38 (HUGE boobs and hips, TINY waist), just curvy all around.
When my husband and I met, I was 25 lb bigger than I am now, I wore size 9/11 jeans. and a 34C/D bra. He LOVED my body, wishes I'd go back to that... I was always self-conscious, but now that I'm at a size that I always thought I wanted to be, and that my friends tell me they're jealous of, I really wish I could put on 5-10 lb, and get some squish back. Skinny just doesn't feel sexy to me.

Oh, Dahlia, I so hope I didn't hurt your feelings with that! You look absolutely gorgeous! You are what I think I want to be, but isn't realistic for ME. I'm just bigger boned and hipped and you seem to be quite small boned - it's your natural build and it's beautiful!
What my issue is more so is women like myself, who are naturally a bit bigger, who go to such great lengths to try to look like you - which they can't accomplish in a really healthy way, since it just isn't how they were made.
I've been struggling with eating issues for a while now - trying to figure out how *I* want to look instead of letting fashion, media, an idiot bf, etc dictate it for me... and it's been confusing. I think a lot of us girls struggle hard with it - do I honestly like how I look or am I trying t look like society thinks I should?
Ok so that was a little too much, sorry...! but just want to make sure you know I think you're gorgeous! I wish I needed to gain weight! How much fun I'd have! Bring on the Cakesters!!!!!

Isn't it horrible how the grass is always greener? Girls who are a little bigger want to be thinner, and girls who are smaller want curves.
I think I am starting to adjust a little better to being small-chested, though (don't worry, I'm still getting my BA when I can!!) I think it's going to be easier to wait though, because I'm realizing, big thanks to DH, that even if I don't have big boobs right now, I'm still sexy, just in a different way-- and when I do get my boobs, I'll be sexy then too!
(I think he's scared I'll get TOO comfortable with my small boobs, LOL-- he likes me the way I am, but he's gotten all hyped up about me getting a BA, he'd be so let down if I didn't...)
Anyways... LOL, we're both just going off on our own tangents.
I have to say, your siggy pic is really gorgeous, I don't know how you could have any weight to lose.

I wouldnt call her fat but she has let herself go, in my opinion. I think if she dropped some pounds and got herself back into shape she would look so much better. Oh, and let her hair grow back out too.

I do think, men, in general, prefer women with a little meat on their bones. I just can't seem to "gain it" in the right places without looking bad. For example, when I'm heavier, it all goes to my face and arms. Does anybody else have this problem???

She just looks a lot "softer" than she did pre-kids but not fat at all. I think it's SICK that the media would pounce on that. She gave a shitty performance, she has to deal with that, but her weight shouldn't be an issue.

Supposedly she took a handful of anti-depressants prescribed by a doctor called to the vma set by her. that would explain the glossy eyes, the lack of coordination, the mess ups in the dance routine and lip syncing.
I pity her and hope that one day she gets the help that she desperately needs.
the media is just jealous that they don't look half as good as she does. they need to go get a life and quit harassing people! psycho :yio:

To me, it wasn't the weight it was the outfit.
I mean, that outfit isn't forgiving on anybody at all. And she wore more clothing when she was younger, amazingly enough.
There were a thousand other things she could have worn that would have complimented her figure rather than exaggerate it.
I don't think she looks fat, but on the other hand she looked pretty dumpy due to the outfit.
I just can't feel sorry for her. She's an adult and has to deal with her problems instead of making more problems.
