Does anyone know how long you need to wait to tan? I am 8 months post-op and i think it will be ok but wanted to make sure.

My PS cleared me after one week. However, you really want to try to keep those scars covered for a good year. Being 8 months post, I think you'll be fine!

Mine cleared me 2 weeks PO but said to make SURE to cover the scars, otherwise they turn really dark and don't look very good.

Thanks. I didn't know about covering the scars. I will put something over them. It seems like all of a sudden they are starting to fade. Finally. I don't want them to stand out any more. Not that anyone sees them. :ibh:

you should be fine but DO cover your scars.

I tan alot. I cover my scars with pieces of tissues soaked with sunblock so they wont blow off in the tanning bed.. It works great.

Tried that. The tape irritates the skin trust me the soaked tissue works great.

The soaked tissue sounds like a great idea. I used band-aids and that did not feel very good to take off after they were in the heat for a little bit. Wish I had the tissue idea then-OUCH!

Armychick, don't you get a line where the tissue is laying when you tan? That sounds like a great idea, but I also don't want an outline of tissue on my boobies..........lol.

I was tanning after the first 4 or 5 days. Just make sure to wear a band aid or something over your incision.
