How long is the recovery from a nose surgery? Can you not work out for a few weeks or it doesn't matter with a nose surgery?
I posted in the main forum (just realised there was a forum for facial stuff) about my deviated septum/spur in the nose that is affecting my ability to breathe well.

Every surgeon is different with their instructions. My ps said no strenous activity 4-6 weeks post op.
The bruising should be gone within 2 weeks. Most of the swelling should be gone by the end of the 3rd-4th month with the remaining subsiding over a year to year and a half (especially if tip work is done). _________________ 34 y/o female

If all you are getting is a septoplasty and not a rhinoplasty then you need about 2 weeks off from working out and then you may be able to start back up slowly and be back to normal activity by the 3rd week post op.
There should be no bruising or noticeable swelling with a simple septoplasty.
You will have a congested nose due to internal swelling and dry blood and dry mucous that may be your biggest complaint. You will also likely have some throbbing initially and mild burning sensation but it is generally not a painful surgery as long as your doctor avoids packing your nose.
good luck. _________________ www.VirginiaFacialPlasticSurgery.com

It was a very simple surgery for me. I had what the dr. said except for pain really. I had no bruising or swelling. _________________

| If you did tell your surgeon, he should be the one to you the time frame for the subsequent procedures. |

Step 1
Know what to expect with regard to bruising. If your nasal bones weren't broken during your surgery, you'll likely see improvement in bruising in 3 to 7 days. In cases in which the nasal bones are broken, it takes 7 to 14 days for bruising to improve.
Step 2
Understand what to expect with regard to swelling. In a closed rhinoplasty, swelling improves in 1 to 6 weeks. In an open rhinoplasty, it can take 1 to 6 months for swelling to diminish.
Step 3
Take at least a week off from work to recover from your nose job. However, keep in mind that while you may feel strong enough to work in a week, your appearance may dictate that you stay home a while longer until you're fully presentable.
Step 4
Be patient, since it takes a while for swelling to subside in a way that reveals the final results of your nose job. For some, this takes as little as 3 months, and for others, it takes as long as 2 years. For most, final results are visible after 6 months.
Step 5
Keep your head up--literally. Help yourself recover by sleeping with your head elevated in the nights following your nose job surgery. This minimizes swelling by helping you avoid accumulation of fluids in the nasal region.
