I'm asked to make this often.

Chilli Cheese steaks

3 Tablespoons all purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 lbs round steak, cut into six pieces
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups chopped onions
1 16 ounce can whole tomatoes
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350. In cup combine flour, salt, chilli powder and pepper.
Place meat on cutting board and sprinkle with flour mixture. With a meat mallet pound mixture into meat. Turn and repeat on other side. Reserve the leftover flour mixture.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat in hot oil, cook meat untill well browned on both sides. Remove meat to a plate. In the same pan, add onions and cook about 5 mins. Stir in remaining flour mixture.

Into a large shallow casserole pan, spread onions. Arrange steaks on top, then crush one of the whole tomatoes over each steak. Pour the liquid from the canned tomatoes over top.

Cover with foil and bake about 1 1/2 hours or untill meat is fork tender. Sprinkle steaks with cheese and cook another 5 mins or untill cheese is melted. Serve steaks and sauce with white rice.

The one everyone loves is probably my white pasta. It's very easy.

cook 1 lb of rotini pasta (or whatever kind you prefer) strain and set aside
cook 1 box chopped frozen spinach, drain and set aside
In the pasta pot brown 3 or 4 (or more) cloves of fresh minced garlic in olive oil.
Once the garlic is browned return pasta to pan and stir in more olive oil, a can of diced tomatoes(not drained), cooked spinach, chopped olives.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Top with grated parmesean and romano.
My kids love this and even eat the spinach.

You can vary it too. Brocolli instead of spinach, fresh tomatoes instead of canned. Have fun with it. The key is the olive oil and garlic.

edited to fix numerous spelling errors, duh. sorry if I missed some :)

Oh, have you ever had a tomato and toast sandwich? Just toast some bread, lightly butter then put some sliced tomatoes with a few sprinkles of pepper and voila! Instant tomato sandwich!!! I used to eat them all the time when I was little. I love em but DH doesn't so I don't buy them as much. I do grow cherry tomatoes in my garden though. :ban38:

See cinnamon roll thread. My DH would have me making them constantly if he could.

I also get asked a lot for my carrot cake. I'll try and post the recipe in a bit.

Oh Kel, I would love the carrot cake recipe. That's my all time favorite. I just had a craving for it today so I made a quick box one because I was not about to go out. It's freaking freezing here!

Carrot Cake

4 eggs
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon (I use heaping tsp's)
1/4 tsp salt
3 cups grated carrots
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 9X13 inch baking pan. Beat eggs and oil in small bowl. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl. Add egg mixture; mix well. Stir in carrots and walnuts. Pour into pan and bake 30-35 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean. Cool completely and frost with Cream cheese icing.

Cream Cheese Icing

Combine 1 box (16 oz) powdered sugar, 1 pkg (8 oz) softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup softened butter and 1 tsp vanilla. Beat until smooth.

Potato, Sweet Potato & Pumkin Bake
10 potatos thinly sliced
3 sweet potatos thinly sliced
1 piece of pumkin thinly sliced
grated cheese
sour cream
1 can pumkin soup
1 onion sliced

Cut pumkin & Sweet potao & Potato into thin slices & layer them with all the other ingredients.
So put a layer of the potaoes & pumkin with a layer of onion & sour cream & pour on some soup & so on & so on.
Bake at 180 degrees for an hour or until potato is soft.
Put another layer of cheese on top 10 mins before you take it out.

Hope i explained that okay
It is delicous, high in carbs but delicous & everyone asks me to make it !
I usually take it along to a BBQ or make it for my family as an accompaniment to a steak meal.
