I am looking for a good coffee cake recipe. Something simple, just a cinammon one would do. If anyone eats at starbucks, what I'm really looking for is like their lowfat coffee cakes--they have cinammon & blueberry. DH & I both love those. The recipe doesn't need to be low fat, I am very good at altering recipes to eliminate the fat on my own. If anyone has a good recipe for this please share. Thanks!!

I dont have a recipe for blueberry cake, but I do have my Grandmas recipe for a cinnamon coffee cake and it is awesome and pretty easy to make.
Set aside and mix together 1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
Ingredients
2 sticks butter softned
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups flour
Cream butter and sugar with electric mixer, Add eggs one at a time and mix thourougly.
Add sour cream and vanilla
Sift flour, salt and baking powder and stir into mixture (you will need a flour sifter for that if you dont already have one)
Grease and flour Bundt or tube pan
Pour a little of the nut mixture in first and then pour cake batter and repeat topping and cake batter ending with the nut topping.
bake at 350 for 50 mins.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool.
Oh and this recipe isnt low fat as you can tell lol. |

I can work out a lot of the fat, don't worry about it not being low fat. :) _________________

This is my best coffee cake recipe. It is to die for.
Jewish Coffee Cake
1 cup brown sugar packed
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 Tbsp. flour
3/4 cup chopped nuts. I used pecans
3 heaping Tbsp. Butter
Measure butter then melt it, mix with other ingredients and set aside.
Cake
1/2 cup butter softened
1 cup sugar
Cream together
Add 3 eggs one at a time and beat
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder,
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Add to batter
1 carton 8 oz. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
beat until smooth
Line bottom of greased angel food pan with strussel, top with half the batter. Add strussel on top, cover with remaining batter, add last of strussel on top.
Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Cool before taking out of pan.
This freezes very well. Taste better when stored in the refridge.
