It was me & I will have to repost the pics for you.

You buy the bra extenders then use the hook part ONLY! Sew it to the bra & VWALLA tightens the band & brings the straps in. Only thing is I have only found white extenders so my beige bra's have white hooks, but, I don't care. DH is taking more pics now so I will upload & post them for you in a minute. Very simple to do!!!!

The 3 extender bra is a VS Secret Embrace Demi in 34DD

The 2 hook is a cheap Wal Mart 36D. I cut off one of the original hooks on than one & zig zagged the edge. I hope you can see them well enough.

HTH! Let me know if you have any questions. :)

Thank you so much for posting this - I'm going to go look for some bra extenders this afternoon, and hope I can remember how to sew enough to get the job done.. .

What a great idea :).

Peepers - do you have any problem with sewing the extenders onto the lace? Has it ripped or torn the lace or anything? I'd like to do this with some of my bras... but I've been afraid of sewing onto a less "stable" part of the bra. TIA! :D

MWM, I used this technique to alter my VS Angels bra, and it held just fine on the lace. Just make sure a zig-zag stitch it used.

Thanks, PRB! That's great cause I have some 36 bands that I need shortened. Hmmm, but I don't have a sewing machine so I may have to find some alternatives. . . . Cripes!

You do have to be carefull to NOT stretch the lace or the band as you sew. Like sissy said use the zig zag stitch. This morning I cut off the end original hook on the Secret Embrace as I will never use that. Then I zig zagged twice to close the open edge just as I did on that lace one. I bought that lace one off the clearance rack at Wal Mart for 3 bucks :ban38: ! Wal Mart also had the extenders there in the sewing section. I used a #14 needle on my machine for both bra's, no probs with bunching or tearing. I pin them on 1st, I only use long pins as I hate the short ones, usually called quilters pins. Once I get the placement right. away I go!

Well, Sam, that's what extenders are originally intended for - to "extend" or lengthen the bra strap. You don't sew anything in that case - just hook the extender to the bra to make the hook part longer - KWIM?

Like sissy said that is what the extender is for. No sewing.

Fishchick anywhere that sells sewing supplies, fabrics & notions. Ben Franklin, Wal Mart, or any other fabric shops.

Sam this will give you an idea. They come with 2 parts the hooks & receivers. To make the band smaller I reverse the extender & only sew on the receivers.
