To not risk being called out while posting on another thread and ignoring this one I am just saying hello. Oh and you know if I ever get around to it I will have laser resurfacing done. I just want to see what it feel like. Did you know most of the ladies are so in bed by now. It's past midnight everywhere over there. _________________

Hey Bec,
I had CO2 laser resurfacing done just around both eyes. My PS recommended it as treatment for dark circles, which did improve them, but it was a bonus when the procedure also got rid of the fine lines (crows feet)! That was 5 years ago and it was well worth the $. |

i've done botox. but it doesn't do anything for the fine lines.
i would think about the laser, but it seems like it has a lot of down time.
anyone else have any recommendations? |

I'm considering botox for my forhead and lines on each side of my mouth (the parenthesis lines). Are you saying that botox won't work for those lines? _________________

Botox works for "dynamic lines" or lines that form with movement. If you see the line even with no expression then these are "static lines" and they are permanent marks in the skin which would need resurfacing to reduce or eliminate. This is not to say, Botox wont help with these lines because it will help prevent them from getting deeper as well prevent accentuating the lines but to think Botox will remove them is just not true. _________________ www.VirginiaFacialPlasticSurgery.com

What Dr. Naderi said!! I get restylane for my nasal-labial folds (around the mouth) and botox for my forehead lines.
I've had one deep chemical peel and some light laser peels but never full-on laser resurfacing. The recovery period is too long for me. I'm having a Photofacial on Thursday. I like them (no down time). They address broken capillaries, sun damage and fine lines. Not NEAR the same for lines as laser resurfacing though....but google it if you're interested. _________________ Sue |

Hi,
If you read the ASPS consent form for Botox, its multiple pages full of scary potential side effects.
In reality, when administered by a properly trained surgeon, it is very safe. Its been around since 1989 and no major problems have been noted WHEN used properly by properly trained doctors.
Tiny bruises from the needles are the most common side effects.
Improper injection around the eyes can result in eyelid or brow drooping.
Talk to your doctor and visit Allergan's website to read more.
Good luck
